Take the numbers of the letters of the fathers name & of the mothers name & if they be even, if it be the first child then shee is with childe of a mayde, if od of a boy examp. if Jhon & Elisabeth the number of the letters of John are 5. & of Elisab. 10. which being added togeather. doe make 15. which is od, therefore we say shee is with child with a boy But if the woman had on child or more before then you shall ad to there names the number of her last child & therby you shall knowe where the next child shalbe a boy or a mayde as if John & Elisab. had last a child whose name was wiliam which hath 6 letters put this to the 15 & it maketh 21. which is also odde & therfore her next child shal be a boy also:
