Support and funding

The Casebooks Project is funded by a Wellcome Trust Programme Grant (090619), commencing in April 2010 and running for 39 months. This builds on the Casebooks Pilot Project (which ran for eight months on a half-time basis from 2008–9), also funded by the Wellcome Trust (087218).

The Wellcome Trust Strategic Award (088708) on Generation to Reproduction supported a year of research leave for Lauren Kassell in 2011–12 so that she could devote herself full-time to the Casebooks Project.

Our work would be impossible without the support and co-operation of the Bodleian Library, the holders of the original casebooks, who have been generous in giving us access to the documents themselves and to digital images of them.

We are also indebted to the University of Cambridge, and in particular our colleagues at the Department of the History and Philosophy of Science for hosting us and our website, for administrative and moral support, and for encouragement and constructive criticism.
